Semi-Annual Update!

The last post was titled Merry Christmas and it apologized for the duration since the previous, so I guess that's the new norm.  So we'll call this the semi-annual update.

Rozman news: We are wrapping up a great summer.  We just vacationed in Carmel for 10 days and it was spectacular.  It's so nice to get that time to relax and spend time with family!  Summer is coming to an end and we're gearing up for a loaded fall!

Brad news:  I am officially the editor on Disney's Tangled.  It looks to be a really good show that has some immense backing and expectations from all of Disney, so I am excited about being on a show of this caliber.  Starting a new show is always unfamiliar and takes some time to get to know everybody and the process.  But it's also always fresh and renewing.  The 7D will be a time I'll always be grateful for.  It gave me a lot of new possibilities and opportunities.  We also just started up another semester of our church Community Group that Lyndsey and I lead.

Lyndsey news:  Lyndsey is prepping for fall.  It'll be her first time being a homeschool teacher and we are all very excited about that.  She is very happy about this opportunity with Logan.  She and I are also part of a training at our church called Family Life Development Center which is training us to help counsel people.  The curriculum and teachers are incredible and we are looking forward to growing in this area so that we will be better equipped to help our friends.  It will be a busy fall, but we are hoping to thrive in these new roles.

Logan news:  Logan grows by the day physically, mentally, socially, etc.  We love our silly boy and his kind heart.  He is creative, smart, and fun.  We just wrapped up his second t-ball "season".  He was spectacular on his team.  He listened to his coach, participated, listened, obeyed, tried really hard, and was an excellent teammate and set the example for the other kids on the team.  He were so proud of him.  He will also start kindergarten right after Labor Day!  Where did time go?  He loves learning and has the best teacher in the world, so we are eagerly waiting to see all that he learns and what he likes to learn about this year.

Claire news:  Claire makes us laugh.  She has more personality per pound than probably anybody in the world.  You need a smile?  Just listen to a Claire story, or watch her dance, dress-up or pantomime something.  She is also currently in a "Get Fit to the Music" dance class which is a lot of fun for her.

Here's a small sample of 8 months of pics...

Her own outfit choice.

We had a great trip to Texas to celebrate Dada's 70th birthday!  This is our annual Logan and Dada tractor ride.

Our next door neighbors had a party with a mechanical bull.  Logan showed his Texas blood riding it.

Sweet siblings

Over the last several months Logan has become a tree climber.  He had just been riding a bike--we aren't making him wear helmets to climb trees...although...

Easter morning

How is this boy 5 years old!?

Claire transitioned from a crib...

...to a big girl bed!

Logan got a school desk from Dada and Momum for his birthday.  He truly loves this thing!  It has all kinds of hidden drawers and cubbies and he has it all ready to go for school.

Some friends from our Community Group randomly gave us tickets to a Clippers game for the last game of the season.  The kids had a great time at their first official pro sporting event.

Love this pic of them.

Whenever Mommy is away, we always send her pics saying we miss her.

Daddy date to get some ice cream

Some toys just never go out of style.  Logan loves playing Lincoln Logs--an important part of any boy's upbringing.  Although playing Cowboys and Indians feels very un-PC.

Our artist!

We had an awesome July with Leslie and Lizzie!  What a fun month to spend with them.

We went with Les and Liz to the Grammy Museum, a first for us.  The kids loved playing on all of the interactive instruments.

Our second pro sporting event was going with Les and Liz to the Dodger game on the 4th to see the game and fireworks.  In the background, the Dodgers are celebrating the victory.  For those keeping score, Logan and Claire are undefeated in their 2 games.  I think these teams should pay us to go.

Enjoying the fireworks

We got to show the Tyers around USC.  Fight on!

We also had a blast with Sam for one week!  What a brave boy to fly out all by himself again.  We are so happy he did, and Logan and Claire truly adore him.  He's so independent and a great helper.

Love that girl!

Logan and Sam might say that the aptly named "Big Tree Park" was a highlight of the trip, over Disneyland, beach and more.

Daddy day with the kids--we go to Bass Pro Shop.  We were there for almost 4 hours testing pretty much every item in the store.

Claire's first pigtails!  And a little Shirley Temple smile.

I got another day to bring Logan to work with me.  I think it's his 4th time!  This was the first time he made it through the whole day though.  It's always fun.

A bubble bath is always a Carmel highlight--for everyone.

We had a great day of new stuff in Carmel.  We went to a redwood forest, rode a steam train through it, and rode roller coasters at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  That was a really fun day!

That yellow thing on the ground is the area's famous Banana Slugs!

Playing tonight on the playground.  These kids get bigger by the day!

After Claire's last dance class.

This video stemmed from 2 things: Logan's love for science experiments, and years of explaining the exploding Mentos in Diet Coke Springs from the movie Wreck It Ralph.  He's always been fascinated by those scenes so we decided to do it ourselves--and teach chemical reactions.

A little talent show.  Every now and then we record the kids doing something they are proud of learning.  For Claire it was singing "Jesus Loves Me".

For Logan it was singing "Trust Obey".  This song lists the 10 character traits we want him to learn and now he is learning a Bible verse for each of the 10.  He has 2 of those down.

A hit and base run from a tball practice.  Not his best hit, but gives you an idea what it's like.
