Last weekend Logan and I went camping with 6 other dads and 9 other boys. We had a blast. All of the boys had a lot of fun and it was a successful first trip. We got there, set up, cooked dinner, made a fire, cooked smores, slept in a tent and sleeping bags, made breakfast, pet horses, went on 2 hikes, and up to a nature center. If you ask Logan about his favorite part, he'll tell you it's sleeping in a tent with his friends and sleeping bag snuggling with Daddy. He definitely wants to go again.

At night, Logan loved walking around with a flashlight. I think we took 5 and he used all of them.
We went on a 1 mile hike. I'm proud of him for walking probably 80% of it, but this is one of the few times he needed a breather.

At the nature center. Does he look tired? I'm pretty sure Logan was the last boy to sleep and the first boy awake, or at least tied for each. He napped on the way home, then slept longer than most nights, then slept well the following night too. Camping wears you out!
The sticker on his shirt is for being a "Jr Park Ranger" given by the official park ranger because he picked up trash around our campsite.
There was cactus and poison oak on our hike. We told the boys to point them out. Logan took this to heart and literally pointed out every cactus on the entire path...which was every few feet. We were quite safe.

He had a great time, and was a real trooper. He was a helper, a listener and I think learned a lot about how to have fun and be safe outside. A really great trip!
