6 months of pictures!

I've started this post several times between July and now, and always get side tracked before I finish.  Obviously, a lot has happened in the last several months, so rather than writing about all of it, I'll let the pictures tell the story.

Someone was excited to go see his Texas family!

Getting all buckled in and settled.  Logan had a pillow, blanket, Mickey Mouse and a ton of toys in his seat the whole way.  He was well set up.

Leaving during a Pacific Ocean California sunset.

Playing games together on their iPads.

Snack time with Dada

Swimming is always a favorite in Texas

Bowling cousins

The movie theater in Aunt Jamie's house still gets talked about

I thought this was a pretty picture

We had a blast doing some fireworks at Aunt Jamie's.  A fun 4th celebration!

Girl cousins!

Don't know how many times we've written on this blog that "it's not a trip to Texas without a ride on Dada's John Deere"

Cousin time at Mimi's

Caught a beautiful sunset on Mimi's street

A great visit.  This kids were actually sad to be leaving in this pic.

Logan drawing and Sam journaling about the trip.

Cousins watching a movie to pass the time.

Cousins geared up and ready to go to the beach!

Like father, like son.  The Haywood boys love In N Out milkshakes.  It was so much fun having big cousin Sam stay with us by himself.  Such a big boy to fly home alone.

We are very proud of Logan finishing his teeball season!  He grew a lot during the season, learning how to participate, being more patient and learning how to play on a team and have fun.  He is a pretty good teeball player and is very proud of his medal.

With the sadness of Nana's passing, there were a handful of fun and good moments as well--including a rare time of all 9 cousins together.

It was also a really fun time of being with both of my sisters!

Speaking of being with both sisters, how about a quick road trip across Texas!?  Here's the gigantic menu at the Little Red Barn ("Little" is not aptly named).  Feeling like steak?

Chicken fried steak--with 3 choices of gravy.

Glad I could go to Odessa for Nana's burial.  Overall the 2 days were a celebration of her wonderful life and the legacy she left us all.

Seeing a Logan's Roadhouse on day 2 away from my kids made me start missing them!

Everybody probably has "that house"--the house that is forever engrained in their memory as their grandparent's house.  This memory is probably also one of the greatest places in the world to go.  For me, this is that house--Nana and Granddad's house in Odessa.

Proud of his post-bath mohawk.

The kids are so sweet with each other lately.  When they don't know a parent is looking, you can often catch them snuggling, hugging or giggling together.

When the girls are away...Daddy and Logan will have a superhero and animals VS transformers and construction trucks war!

Daddy and Logan also got to go to the movie together and see one of Logan's new favorites - "Shaun the Sheep".

And Logan got an ICEE that was as big as his torso!

Every morning Claire wakes up around 5:30-6 (too early for Mommy and Daddy).  She gets in bed with us to snooze away a few more hours.  So every morning I get to wake up to this beautiful sight...or her foot into one of our backs.

New minivan!  The kids love our new home-on-wheels!

After bath pics are some of my favorites

A late August trip to Carmel.  Always great trips there.

Bubble beard is a hit

This was our first time to actually go out on the water in Monterey/Carmel.  It was a really fun trip and we got to see some whales pretty close.

I've been making 7D music videos and the kids love them.  Literally watch them over and over and over.

He is a number, letter and puzzle machine!  Put numbers and puzzles together and it's a hit.

In most places you can't swim in late September.  In LA you can.

Celebrating Mommy and Aunt Sammi's birthdays.  Sorry our kids don't ever wear clothes.

Claire celebrating a graduation from bottle to cup for her milk.

Bubby celebrating with her.

They read together a lot.

Silly morning picture.

We build insane train tracks almost every day.

A handful of our 10th Anniversary Maine/Boston pics.  That was a perfect trip.  So beautiful in Maine, and so historical in Boston.  And just a great time away.

8 days away requires some big hugs when you get back!

It rains so rarely, we do this even when it clouds up a little.  The boots were a birthday present from Grandma.

Daddy/daughter date to get some ice cream.  We were supposed to share this, but Claire pretty much took it down.

Opening birthday presents.  Can't believe she's already 2!

More reading together

Logan went to work with Daddy again.  What a fun day!  He's drawing on the art computer.

And takes over the couch with snacks, games, toys, and art.

Glendora Halloween trick or treating downtown

We had a really great week with Mimi and Granddaddy.  It was relaxing and the kids got some really good time with them.  It's a blessing to spend time with family.

Claire's new birthday scooter from Dada and Momum.  She can keep up with her brother now.

Carving pumpkins

We made a silly face pumpkin.  Daddy asked Logan to make a silly face, then carved it to match (with a few less teeth).

Proud of their work.

Trick or treating is always a lot of fun.  Claire was tentative at first, until the first house gave her candy.  Then she ran to the next house yelling "Candy!  Trick or Treat!"

A good haul.

Enough for everyone.

I told you...daily train tracks!

We spent Thanksgiving in Carmel which was awesome.  A great time to relax and spend time with grandparents, aunts and uncles.  More bubble beards too.  This was a good one.

Good bye for now!

This is a really fun video timelapse of Logan putting a puzzle together.  He really got excited about seeing a video of himself putting a puzzle together "really fast."
